Steps for Creating a Service

To create a service, you should follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your IO River account.
  2. Under the CDN Providers tab, add your CDN. For more information, see Adding a CDN Account.
  3. Under the Certificates tab, either create or add a certificate. For more information, see Creating a certificate.
  4. Under the Services tab, choose Add Service.
  5. Fill out the new service form:
    • Name - Provide a name for your service
    • Domain - The domain name you would like to use for the service. More domains can be added later.
    • Origin - The origin server you would like to use in this service.
    • Certificate - Select the certificate to be used with this service. Note that the certificate needs to match the domain name.
  6. Click Save.
  7. The new service should now appear in the Services tab. Choose the newly created service in order to add your CDN provider.
  8. Under the CDN Providers tab, select your CDN provider from the list, and click Add. Deployment of the CDN is done in the background and may take some time depending on the CDN provider. You can track its status by clicking the Tasks icon (next to the profile icon).

Once deployed, to access your content, you will need to set up a traffic policy and direct your domain to the service CNAME. For more information, see Configuring DNS.
